After careful repacking and some rewrites, it's down to 915 mem-
ory cells. This is small enough, but I might be able to get it
a fair bit smaller yet. I'll wait on that though.

We went out looking at cars today. I have some notes on a few
possible types. Now to actually find something we can afford.

I added the # sigil to the assembler, and also wrote a disassem-
bler. So this is now functionally complete. I have another day
of work (or two?). I'd like to get it down to under 1k cells so
I can leave most RAM free for the user.

Well that's done. The assembler has been written and tested, and
it works pretty well. I'm going to add support for the # sigil
to allow inlining values, but otherwise I'm happy with this.

my worn out shoes, had lunch, and spent some time going over the

I think if I go this route I'll be looking at a smaller bike or
motor scooter, at least initially. My needs are basically all
local, though it'd be nice to find something fairly light that
can handle highway speeds on occasion.

longer writing). It'll be a bit before I share it, but I've made

Wednesday. Church tonight, and some prep work for the missions
conference. I'll be trying to record & stream both parts of the
split session on Saturday, so am doing some work to support this
tonight.

I'm doing my daily computing under SSH on the reMarkable Move
today. I don't have an ilo-unix, so am just using the basic ilo
with line buffering. It's not great for (termina) programs, but
works well for the standard applications. And using the basic
line editor is still good enough for me.

Maybe I should do an ilo.blocks w/o the termina stuff and just a
more minimal overall system?

It's Tuesday. More snow & ice melting, and work is getting a bit
busier. A lot of quoting, and some of these are pretty decent in
scope.

Didn't do any programming today, but did start backing up data
from the devbox to the rsync.net zfs store in prep for a reset
of the devbox to become my prod server (it'll replace the linode
I use now) with FreeBSD.

This is part of some cost-cutting efforts on my part. I'll have
a series of tech changes to help with this, and some non-tech
adjustments as well.

do a bit of a cleaner separation in a few areas. Currently it's
set with 1024 for system blocks & applications, 1024 for the
glossary and manual, 1024 for personal data, and 1024 for WISP.
I think I'll partition this slightly better, with a clearer
separation between the system blocks, standard applications, my
private applications, space the glossary and manual a little,
increase the data blocks, and set up an area after the WISP reg-
ion for things like my DecAdv logs. So not a major change, but a
little refinement.

Evening update: layout is setup, and I have a sanitize script to
rebuild a clean ilo.blocks from my personal set. Now to finish

Church today. The wifi is still down, but I was able to do the
streams since Comcast didn't block non-HTTP traffic on the non-
activated new modem.

Not feeling well, and my blood glucose reflects this.

I was able to do some reading today, which was nice. I'm about
85% done with the Powder Mage trilogy, so I'll have to decide on
something new to start soon.

It's very cold today. I ended up reading until around 0300, then
bed for a while to rest, before a lunch, walk, and coffee.

In the afternoon I worked on the notes on my Supernote, then had
dinner before taking a few minutes to write this post. I will
now resume reading until I decide to shut down for the night.

More to come tomorrow. Hopefully a more productive day, but I am
feeling a bit unwell, so it's hard to be certain at this point.
If I don't feel better, I'll prioritize resting when I can until
this passes.

It snowed (lightly). Not enough to be a real issue, but enough
to be annoying. Next week should be a little warmer, which will
be nice.

I'm working on the update to Konilo's startup blocks. The change
will have them load the stdlib, applications, and such only if
EXTENDED is not defined already. And I add one (std) block that
defines this. So you can build a fresh image, then load once and
do a `rom:save`. Afterwards you'll have fast startups, and if
you prefer the old behavior, just don't do the `rom:save`.

I'm going to rebuild the manual from the ground up, to reflect
changes made, and try to get it to a more useful state. I'll
start on that tomorrow I think.

January 1; a new year begins. Today was resting in the morning,
visiting with mom & Arland in the afternoon, and a late dinner.
At mom's we had the Christmas gifts from her & my sister. It was
a nice time, but we were all pretty tired when we got home.

No programming today, other than writing a bit with sitelen ilo.

I did backup my WISP blocks and set up for this year.

Tomorrow I'm nominally off work. (In that I need to open/close
the store, but am not actively working.). I'll probably try to
do a bit of development on a few of my personal projects, and
maybe get the paperwork for a passport renewal filled out.
